Blog: Algeria, attack against democracy

June 29th 1994. Two grenades just been thrown into the crowd during a peace march in Algiers. The attack caused two deaths, Rabah Chabane and Mohamed Meziane and 71 wounded. I was a few meters from the explosions. I returned the same day in Paris. I deposited the films in the laboratory of the Gamma agency and waited whether developed. And there I was shocked! I found out on the lightbox unknown images, two images that I do not remember having taken and yet it was my job. Blown by explosions, half unconscious, I had done mechanically. They were proof of the drama that had just occurred and also that of my own amnesia!
